Malam tadi, sempat buat biskut choc chip. Dapatlah satu adunan - sedap!!! Sambil tu, tengok cerita Kekasihku Seru - barulah faham betul2, sebab dah tunjuk salasilah macaman bermulanya Waris...

Jumpa Miya, borak2 kejap... Masa balik, dah hujan...

Ok, harap2 esok tak ada masalah nak bertolak sebelum pukul 8... minta2 selamat... Amin

6 days to 1st Syawal

Yesterday was my Pak Chah's birthday- for the first time, I remembered. So at around 6 yesterday, I mentioned to Papa, and he told me to send Pak Chah his greeting as well.

Hm, and, in 2 more days, this Saturday, I'll turn 39!!! Just a year shy of the big 4-0! Wow, am I really that young?

Right now, I'm quite into geni.com, a wonderful site that allows you to create family trees... last weekend, while checking out the family tree with Aduk, we discovered that our great-great-great grandparent / my mom's oneng-oneng is a Panglima. How's that? Anyway, it really is interesting to have this kind of connection with family members, I'd go and invite more family members soon!
Talking of relatives, semalam borak dgn kak Mas (Hafazah, menantu Pak Long Yahya)... lama tak bercerita, adalah jugak sedara nak chit-chat kat sini.

Tapi bila I simpan butter dlm fridge, she had the cheek to ask me, "Mummy kata nak buat kuih?" Macam2 anak dara tu!

Biskut Coklat Cip paling mudah!!!

I love baking, tapi yang buat jadi leceh is the preparation. Cleaning the oven, trays, taking out the weighing scale, etc, etc... So, I'm always on the lookout for simple recipes, those that requires less hassle, esp in the preparatory stage.

Then, one day, while surfing the net, I stumbled upon this recipe. Tak perlu nak timbang, tak perlu nak terap, sangat mudah!!!

To choc chip lovers out there, kalau nak cuba2 buat biskut paling mudah, n yum, yum, try out this recipe!!!

Biskut Coklat Cip mudah

1 buku mentega/ 1 cawan marjerin
2 cawan gula kastor (cawan sukatan metrik standard)
- pukul hingga kembang

2 biji telur
1 sudu teh esen vanila
- masukkan ke dalam adunan di atas

3 cawan tepung
1/4 cawan koko
1 sudu teh baking powder
- ayak dahulu. tambah sedikit-sedikit ke adunan, gaul rata

1 cawan cip coklat
kembang.
- bakar selama 10-15 minit.
- kuih dijamin habis!!!

7 days to 1 Syawal

I haven't blogged for almost 3 weeks. So many things have taken place in Malaysia... some good, some sad, some depressing...

At work, my Aviation kids are now sitting for their finals, being their final week, I am a bit nostalgic about life without them... imagine, knowing them for almost two years, every week, save for holidays, sick days, OJTs, hm, I'm really gonna miss them!

On the political landscape, I know that as a government staff, I cannot make political stands, but no right-thinking Malaysians are not anxious about how things are on the home front. Yalah, 9/16 came n left, then 9/18's UMNO MT meeting was explosive, then, bloggers were detained, Teresa Kok released from ISA, n yesterday, RPK was sent to Kemunting... Hm, how's that, Sporeans? In that sense, you cannot kiasu with us - you lose hands down! No way your political landsacape's as interesting as this!

At home, my babies are finally back in the pink of health, ready, raring for Hari Raya I guess!

And so far, kuih tart dah tinggal dalam 200 pieces... I think almost 60 pieces dah habis kena ngap by the kids...

My upm tesl group dah start emailing the raya wishes.. I have to remember to do that soon!

Til my next blog, ciao!

from thestar:

KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran journalist Tan Sri Abdul Samad Ismail (pic) died at the Pantai Medical Centre at 5.58pm Thursday after suffering from lung infection.

Abdul Samad, 84, affectionately known as Pak Samad, was admitted to the hospital on Aug 24 after complaining of difficulty breathing.

He leaves behind wife Puan Sri Habibah Hamid and 10 children.
His first wife Hamidah Hassan died June 2, 1990.

According to Bernama, Abdul Samad's body will be taken to his house at No 2, Lorong 16/7C, Petaling Jaya and it will be laid to rest after Friday prayers.

Pak Samad touched many lives through his writings which were radical at times but always thought-provoking.

Born and educated in Singapore, Samad's career in journalism started in 1940 after he finished his Senior Cambridge certificate. He started working as a cub reporter in the newly-established Malay daily, Utusan Melayu.

As a Malay nationalist, Samad fought for independence from the British through his writings and the newspaper sympathetically covered news of student movements and labour agitations.
He also joined hands with left wing Malay nationalists in pushing for de-colonisation and met with anti-colonialists of all races including Indonesian revolutionaries fighting for their own independence against the Dutch.

He went on to head Berita Harian and later on The New Straits Times group as its managing editor. He was arrested in 1976 under the Internal Security Act. He was only released in 1981 after which he re-joined the NSTP group as its editorial adviser. He retired from journalism in 1988 and was honoured by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in 1992.

He was also awarded the title Pejuang Sastera (Literature Champion) for his accomplishment in the literary and journalistic field.

In 1994, he received the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Journalism, Literature and Creative Communications Arts in recognition of his role in championing national independence, cultural revival and democratic nation building.

Some of the novels he has written include Kail Panjang Sejengkal (1963), Patah Sayap Terbang Jua (1966), Tembok Tidak Tinggi; Orang Jauh (1967), Menduga Lautan Dalam; Menimba Yang Jernih (1968), Sutinah (1975) and Hud (1995).
